Exploration Is Not Browsing, It Is Confidence Building
Abstract
Define Exploration as the stage where users assemble understanding, narrow options, and build readiness for commitment. Highlight common Exploration failures that poison later decisions.
Most teams treat Exploration as passive browsing—users clicking around before they decide. But Exploration is active. Users are resolving uncertainty, checking their mental models against the product, and quietly deciding whether the next phase is worth attempting.
When Exploration fails—through confusing navigation, inconsistent labeling, or missing context—the damage surfaces later, at the Alignment stage, in ways that look like hesitation but are really unresolved questions from earlier.
